PLEASE READ: Server info has been changed!

I have cable with dynamic IP. This morning it has been changed so your clients can't connect to my server. So current edonkey users please PM me for the domain name. I will give you my domain name this time and you can use the commands "ping domain" or "nslookup domain" to get the IP from it. The domain name doesn't change so everytime you have problem connecting you can check to see if my IP has been changed or if my connection is OK by pinging it. After that, click the Servers tab in edonkey, delete the old server entry and add in the new one with the new IP. Note: you need the IP since edonkey doesn't take domain name.

This is for CURRENT Edonkey users who already has my old server info, potential users still need to sign up in the setup thread as before.

No wonder when I checked edonkey this morning it hanged. Wow this is must be a national maintenance window thing, because Road Runner in Houston also did a maintenance last night, luckily I finished all my downloads before that. Check your PM.

Yeah VuThu's server is also down, probably his IP has been changed too ... I already emailed him.

Oh my poor edonkey at home still trying to connect to the old ip address. Wait until I get home tonight and give him the new address he will be happy again.

VuThu's server is up, his service provider Cox cable was down but his IP is still the same so the server list should be updated automatically with my new server IP ... you may just need to remove my old server IP if it hasn't been removed.

Hey, I see that we now have multiple servers to log on to. Do you guys connect to each others. Can we do multiple connect, since I can see that vuthu is not on tnho server so his files are not available, and so on.

We need Psyduck to join that will help the network a lot because of your high bandwidth on upload. Most of us have cable and limits by the upload speed.

Duck clicks on Shared, click on the folders that Duck likes to share.
that's it and you're done

You got it ... if you're also sharing the files in the sub-folders then press CTL at the same time you're clicking and you'll see a grey background with the red checkmark.

When someone d/l a file from you then u/l to that person and vice versa ... if your u/l bandwidth maxed out and it becomes too slow to surf or it slows down your d/l too much then you can limit your u/l speed by clicking Options and type in your Max Upload Speed. I put 10% below my max here when I'm also downloading ... my max is 35KB/s so I put in 32 here, if I'm not using it for anything else then I put in 0 for no limit.

That review link earlier is non-technical and very easy to read. You should take a look if you have the time.

Anyway, I see many mp3s and music video files being shared from you ... quite a collection, thanks.

The servers are linked together. When you do a search and click Submit it searches the server that you're connecting to. After that if you click Extend Search it will search the next server on the server list and so on. So you don't need to switch server in order to see shared files on another server, just do Extend Search.

one question, I did setup my router to forward ports to my comp. however, the id is still slow, don't know why:confused: :confused: However, I was able to upload and download from edonkey servers.:confused: :confused:

It looks like some ports that are needed by edonkey are still blocked by your router. I cannot view what files you have. If you have a firewall program you can view the traffic log and see what other ports edonkey are trying to use and not get thru.
