Some ISOz to share

First of all, many thanks to GiangVu and moderators who make this forum possible.
Secondly, thanks to tnho and VuThu for your great help on Edonkey. I finally connected to the new IP from tnho ;)

I've got about 20 GB of ISOz (appz and gamez), I will share them with all of you bro and sis :) . I will experiment by sharing 3 ISOz per week to see how it goes.

Your id is low, I can't connect & see what files u have for share.
Can u check your firewall/router setup please?

I don't know why my id = 2 so low. I checked Edonkey status bar it says:
Users: 6, Files: 736
There is no proxie on my end only firewall but it's beyond my control.
Any clue?

I just restarted Edonkey. Now my ID is 24.

What kind of firewall program r u using? I'm not using one so I'm not familiar with them, maybe TexGuy could help.

Anyway, you need to open ports 4661 TCP, 4662 TCP, 4665 UDP for it to work.

A quick way is to disable your firewall program then disconnect (clicking the red plug symbol) and reconnect (double click a server entry or the green plug) to make sure your ID is high.

After that re-enable the firewall program and play with it till it works.

Normally your ID is the decimal number of your IP so it should be in the millions. If the server detects that you're behind a firewall blocking those incoming ports then it assigns you a low ID arbitrarily by the number of connections that it currently has.

I see...
The firewall on my end is controled by the network group. I'll check with them to see if they block these ports.
But, yesterday I was able to connect to Edonkey network and downloaded some warez :D (the speed is kind of slow between 4 - 15 KB/sec).

Are you using a work connection? If so, I wouldn't contact the network group if I were you since you're using it for non-work related purpose... wouldn't want you to get fired over this. :)

When your ID is low, people can't initiate the connection to you first, only you can start the connection to others. Hence, you can d/l from others at anytime but others can only d/l from you if you d/l from them first or send them a chat msg to open the connection.

Yeah, I'm running edonkey at work too but I only use it to monitor the server and to see what files are available. I also use its chat msg to help others but I don't d/l or share any file at work. It's too easy to trace that traffic. I'd recommend you get yourself a cable connection at home.
